About Acquiring a WINDROCK LLC Greyhound
First and foremost, WINDROCK LLC greyhounds are placed with the understanding that they live in the home as a member of the family.
We are passionate preservationist breeders recognized by the AKC as Platinum Level Breeders of Merit.
We are the first and ONLY Greyhound breeders so recognized. We are dedicated to breeding beautiful, functional and healthy greyhounds of sweet character that enjoy long lifespans. Our commitment to the dogs we have bred and the people we entrust them to is FOR LIFE.
We will be retiring some of our show dogs later in 2026. We are active with our Windrock family, people who have our dogs, and will continue to exhibit our dogs on a limited basis.
We rarely have puppies and they are quickly reserved. We evaluate our Windrock greyhounds by extensive profiling and testing starting at 6 weeks of age and we have a pretty good idea of what the personalities are like and can help people select the best candidates according to needs and expectation.
Our greyhounds come with full health and quality guarantees. Puppies that leave here at that time are going well on lead, will stand for exam, ride well in an auto, are crate trained and are house broken. They are highly socialized and totally ready for new homes.
Our mature dogs that are offered have likely seen it all! They reflect their extensive training and love. We might have one or two available in 2026.
Unlike many, we will sell our best show and breeding stock. These prospects are individually evaluated and priced. Just realize what you are asking us to part with . . .

Some of our WINDROCK LLC greyhounds are placed as show, performance or breeding stock but we place most of our Greyhounds as companions. No matter what the endeavor, we encourage participation in Puppy training and obedience classes. We do stipulate in our contract that if you acquire a greyhound from us, that the commitment be for life.
If it ever becomes impossible for a buyer to keep the dog, our contract clearly specifies the Greyhound MUST be returned to us.
To parties interested in acquiring a Greyhound from us, be advised that we do have an approval process which requires references and possibly a home check.

Dog Ownership entails great responsibility. Make SURE you have the TIME and the resources to adequately provide for a dog. A Greyhound puppy requires a fenced yard to run and play in to expend that youthful energy and to develop properly.
It is EXPENSIVE to properly house and maintain even ONE dog. In the case of a puppy, it is not unlike welcoming a new baby and even with a fully trained mature adult, the impact is the same as in adding an additional family member. To acquire a Greyhound is a commitment that will span a decade or more. It is not a decision to be made lightly.

Meet our Tori !! She was whelped June 20, 2024, so is coming 11 months old. Tori is a beautiful blue puppy with white trim out of an own daughter of our MBIS/MSBIS Ch Greystone's Barcelona! Both of her parents are OFA eyes/heart and neuropathy free.
Tori is well started, has been highly socialized and is a great candidate for dog shows and performance events. She is active and very smart. Picks up on things quickly. Is well conformed and quite stylish. I like her alot and it is going to be tough to let this one go! I consider her a strong dual champion prospect

Colin and I are offering this special little girl to a deserving home. "Tori" was whelped June 20, 2024 and is from our show string. She is definitely championship quality and did well in her first weekend of shows. She is a lady of good graces and has a wonderful outgoing personality and loves everyone she meets. She could go far in show and performance events
Or she could simply be the best friend you ever had. Her grandma "Amber" lived to be almost 15 years and health and longevity are strong in her bloodline. Her pedigree boasts some of the greyhounds that made WINDROCK well-known and her sire, in addition to being AKC titled, is a full-time service dog for an autistic child. "Tori" is one of the smartest and easiest greyhounds I have ever trained. **Tori is pending and is not available at this time.**

Colin and I are looking for the perfect retirement home for our lovely "Trudy" who is AKC Champion Windrock Lady Greystone. She will be available the latter part of May or June.
Trudy is pending at this time . . .
Some of these puppies went to show homes, but most were placed as companions.
There are some exceptionally beautiful babies in this litter. Which one is for me? I finally selected the dark red blob in the lower right hand corner. Named "Windrock She's Tough Enough" and we call her "Firefly" Firefly grew up to be an exceptional greyhound and enjoyed a lofty career in which she won Grand Championship titles in the US and Canada, won a Best In Show and a Specialty Best In Show, was briefly top ranked before motherhood necessitated her retirement. She has since proven a fabulous producer with wonderful puppies. Most recently, Firefly was shown at the 2023 Greyhound Club of America National Specialty where she not only won Best Veteran, she was awarded an Award of Merit and placed 2nd in a huge Brood Bitch competition with two of her get!! We are so proud of her!

We have reluctantly made the decision to offer our handsome youngster who we affectionally call "Maximus" to a loving home. He was whelped 2/23/2024 and is very much a puppy. He is a gentleman for one so young and has had a lot of training and experience.
Maximus, or Max for short, was one of our picks from our 2024 litters and he has tremendous potential If dog sports appeal to you. He is a gentle soul that wants nothing more to please and is wishing for a family of his own to love.
Max would be a great Junior's dog. He is a sturdy, well-built fellow with a sweet loving personality. Our 4H kids adore him and he is a good candidate for emotional support or therapy work. Or he could simply be the best friend you ever had! We place even our very best as strictly house companions and do not require participation in dog events. We do mandate that the dog live as a much-loved member of the family in the home.

What Makes Our Puppies Special
Our WINDROCK greyhound puppies are raised in our home and are tended to 24/7 by a full-time puppy raising professional, Kimberly Fritzler. Kim has been raising and training dogs for over 45 years and has the savvy and know-how to bring them up right. There are many top show and performance winners in several breeds that her expertise has brought about. WINDROCK puppies are not kennel dogs, they are home raised, and they are placed with the contractual stipulation that they live in the house as members of the family.
WINDROCK puppies are micro chipped, AKC registered, fully vaccinated and de-wormed. Complete health records are included, and each puppy is sold with written long term guarantees of health and quality. We stand behind our Code of Ethics and the genetic health of our greyhounds. An important part of each puppy's upbringing is ongoing socialization and the implication of "Puppy Profiling" evaluations which are valuable in helping to place each puppy with the best fit for prospective puppy buyers.
Every puppy goes home with a puppy care kit which includes paid AKC registration and AKC official pedigree, registered microchip, collar, leash, toys, food, treats, a personalized book all about him or her, complete health records, instructions on care and feeding, two informative books, and most importantly, WINDROCK life-time mentoring. WINDROCK offers a three-week minimum trial period in which time the puppy may be returned for a full refund of the purchase price providing the puppy is returned in the same excellent condition in was picked up in. No matter the age or circumstances, we will ALWAYS take back dogs we have bred.!
As our puppies are raised by mothers who are allowed to naturally wean them, we prefer to place our puppies at around 10 to 12 weeks of age. By that time, WINDROCK puppies are well started-- going well on leash, stand for exam and have begun crate training. Your WINDROCK puppy is a happy, highly socialized little guy which has been properly raised by professionals and is ready for a family to love him. We have happy puppies and happy people who love them!
Most WINDROCK and come with a health guarantee against genetic defects, lifetime mentoring, and we offer a $100 spay-neuter rebate. Show and breeding prospects are rarely available and are individually evaluated and priced.
We will occasionally have puppies available, and reservations will be necessary. We do anticipate retiring some of our fully trained, AKC champions as we are winding down our involvement in shows and will have some lovely dogs available as companions.

About Greyhound Puppies~
Our Greyhound puppies are raised in our home and have professional care 24/7. We have a considerable investment of time and dedication in each puppy, and nothing is spared in rearing what we believe are some of the finest greyhounds available.
We don't force or rush Nature and we allow Mom to naturally wean her offspring and we provide daily human interaction with the litter to give each of the puppies the best possible start in life. But it is only A START. It is up to the new family to carry on Pup's education and raise him up to be a good canine citizen. Obedience and Puppy Kindergarten classes are strongly recommended!
My old team roping partner used to say, "You get out of a horse exactly what you put into one--and good horses are made over time and with lots of wet saddle blankets."
How true. Your Pup will reflect exactly what you have taught--or failed to teach him. A trained and well-behaved dog reflects hours of one-on-one training, dedication and love. Bad dogs result from inappropriate training or no training--and neglect. Good nutrition is essential for proper growth. For optimum results, one cannot feed a greyhound puppy just processed kibble. Puppies require good and wholesome foods like fresh meat, eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc for proper development. We strongly recommend supplementation of premium kibble diets with "raw" and/or natural cooked foods for the lifetime of the dog.
A Greyhound puppy will require extensive time, love, and dedication from his caretakers. He will need lots of time to play in a big yard to expend all that youthful energy. He will need gentle guidance and a lot of training to help him develop into a well-behaved canine citizen. Good dogs don't just HAPPEN. They are MADE.
If you don't have the time to make the commitment to your companion owing to work demands or family life--PLEASE reconsider getting a dog.
