About Acquiring a WINDROCK LLC Greyhound
First and foremost, WINDROCK LLC greyhounds are placed with the understanding that they live in the home as a member of the family.
We are passionate preservationist breeders recognized by the AKC as Platinum Level Breeders of Merit.
We are dedicated to breeding beautiful, functional and healthy greyhounds of sweet character that enjoy long lifespans. Our commitment to the dogs we have bred and the people we entrust them to is FOR LIFE.
We rarely have puppies and they are often quickly reserved. Two exciting litters are in the works for 2027! Please visit our "Planned Litters page for more details. We evaluate our Windrock greyhounds by extensive profiling and testing starting at 6 weeks of age. We have a pretty good idea of what the personalities are like and can help people select the best candidates according to needs and expectation.
Our greyhounds come with health and quality guarantees. We extend a lengthy trial period as we want people totally happy with their new family member.
Puppies that leave here at 10-12 weeks are going well on lead, will stand for exam and ride well in an auto. They have a good start on crate training and are house broken. They are highly socialized and ready for new homes.
We expect to have a couple of spayed AKC Champion females available late summer of 2026! These campaigners have likely seen it all! They reflect their extensive training and love. We want only the best for them. **Note--these dogs were quickly placed in loving homes. We rarely have adults available.
Unlike many, we will ocassionally sell our best show and breeding stock to known fanciers. These prospects are individually evaluated and priced. Just realize what you are asking us to part with . . .

Some of our WINDROCK LLC greyhounds are placed as show, performance or breeding stock but we place most of our Greyhounds as companions. No matter what the endeavor, we encourage participation in Puppy training and obedience classes. We do stipulate in our contract that if you acquire a greyhound from us, that the commitment be for life.
If it ever becomes impossible for a buyer to keep the dog, our contract clearly specifies the Greyhound MUST be returned to us.
To parties interested in acquiring a Greyhound from us, be advised that we do have an approval process which requires references and possibly a home check.

Dog Ownership entails great responsibility. Make SURE you have the TIME and the resources to adequately provide for a dog. A Greyhound puppy requires a fenced yard to run and play in to expend that youthful energy and to develop properly.
It is EXPENSIVE to properly house and maintain even ONE dog. In the case of a puppy, it is not unlike welcoming a new baby and even with a fully trained mature adult, the impact is the same as in adding an additional family member. To acquire a Greyhound is a commitment that will span a decade or more. It is not a decision to be made lightly.

WINDROCK LLC puppies come with written health and quality guarantees and lifetime mentoring. We do offer a spay/neuter rebate of $100 and a 7-year health guarantee against some genetic defects/disorders.

Meet Tori!! She is a full sister to Willow and was whelped June 20, 2024, so is very much a youngster. Tori is a solid blue with white trim out of an own daughter of our MBIS/MSBIS Ch Greystone's Barcelona! Both of her parents are health tested OFA eyes/heart and neuropathy free.
Tori has had considerable training and has AKC champion points in lure coursing. She has earned her Senior Coursing title. She is a sane, honest runner and we hope that she will finish her AKC Field Championship this summer. She would excel in many performance events. She is active and very smart. Picks up on things quickly. Is well conformed and quite stylish. I like her a lot and it is going to be tough to let this one go!

2027 Puppies are in the works!
These are some of our previous moms and pups--we are planning for two litters in 2027 and early reservations are strongly recommended.
We are planning for TWO exciting litters in 2027! Boy, am I going to be BUSY!
We did not have any puppies available in 2025 or 2026, much to our disappointment and the chagrin of some of our loyal peeps, but we are anxious to see what our 2027 litters plans will produce.

I cannot give a time frame as of yet as to when Tori will be ready for a new home. We have so much invested, and the goal for her is the competition of her AKC Championship title. I would project late summer. NOTE: We sometimes offer adult greyhounds (when available) very reasonably as they are NOT being sold as breeding stock and will be spayed/neutered before they leave. We place most of our adults as companions only.

Meet our beautiful Tara! She da BOMB! She is one of the most exuberant and outgoing greyhound that I have ever known. She has had a lot of training and experience and is pretty much bullet proof. Nothing fazes her and she loves going for walks and meeting new people. She was a fantastic show girl and won consistently in AKC breed competition and attained the distinction of being an AKC Grand Champion.
She also earned a Senior Coursing title in AKC lure coursing competition. She is very much the kind of greyhound WINDROCK is well known and highly regarded for.
Tara is a sweet red and white princess with a happy, outgoing disposition. She has seen and done a lot in her life and is rarely fazed by anything. She gets along well with other dogs and is a favorite practice buddy with the 4H kids.
She had one puppy and decided motherhood was not for her. I was devastated as I had hoped she would present us with more puppies as lovely as she is. But we were blessed with ONE. We have decided that Tara deserves a home of her own where she can receive the attention she so richly deserves.
We have been blessed with a life with this fabulous girl and the memories she has given us are the stuff dreams are made of.

Meet Willow! She is pictured here as a puppy and is a full sister to Tori. She was whelped June 20, 2024, so is still very much a puppy. Willow is a striking blue brindle girl out of an own daughter of our MBIS/MSBIS Ch Greystone's Barcelona! Both of her parents are health tested OFA eyes/heart and neuropathy free.
Willow is well started and in a brief showing, attained her AKC Championship with multiple major wins. Two of these wins was over a top ranked specials. FLASH! Willow dominated the competition and is now an AKC Champion--we are just waiting confirmation from AKC.
As a show dog, she has been highly socialized and is a great candidate for performance events or to simply lounge on the couch with you. She tries hard to please and is very smart. Picks up on things quickly. I like her a lot and it is going to be tough to let this one go!

We have reluctantly made the decision to offer our handsome youngster who we affectionally call "Maximus" to a loving home. He was whelped 2/23/2024 and is very much a puppy. He is a gentleman for one so young and has had a lot of training and experience.
Maximus, or Max for short, was one of our picks from our 2024 litters and he has tremendous potential If dog sports appeal to you. He is a gentle soul that wants nothing more to please and is wishing for a family of his own to love.
Max would be a great Junior's dog. He is a sturdy, well-built fellow with a sweet loving personality. Our 4H kids adore him and he is a good candidate for emotional support or therapy work. Or he could simply be the best friend you ever had! We place even our very best as strictly house companions and do not require participation in dog events. We do mandate that the dog live as a much-loved member of the family in the home.

What Makes Our Puppies Special
Our WINDROCK greyhound puppies are raised in our home and are tended to 24/7 by a full time professional, Kimberly Fritzler. Kim has been raising and training dogs for over 45 years and has the savvy and know-how to bring them up right. There are many top show and performance winners in several breeds that her expertise has brought about. WINDROCK puppies are not kennel dogs, they are home raised, and they are placed with the contractual stipulation that they live in the house as members of the family.
WINDROCK puppies are micro-chipped, AKC registered, fully vaccinated and de-wormed. Complete health records are included, and each puppy is sold with written, long term guarantees of health and quality. We stand behind our Code of Ethics and the genetic health of our greyhounds. An important part of each puppy's upbringing is ongoing socialization and the implication of "Puppy Profiling" evaluations which are valuable in helping to place each puppy with the best fit for prospective puppy buyers.
Every puppy goes home with a puppy care kit which includes paid AKC registration and AKC official pedigree, registered microchip, collar, leash, toys, food, treats, a personalized book all about him or her, complete health records, instructions on care and feeding, two informative books, and most importantly, WINDROCK life-time mentoring. WINDROCK offers a three-week trial period in which time the puppy may be returned for a full refund of the purchase price providing the puppy is returned in the same excellent condition it was picked up in. No matter the age or circumstances, we will ALWAYS take back dogs we have bred.!
As our puppies are raised by mothers who are allowed to naturally wean them, we prefer to place our puppies at around 10 to 12 weeks of age. By that time, WINDROCK puppies are well started-- going well on leash, stand for exam and have begun crate training. Your WINDROCK puppy is a happy, highly socialized little guy which has been properly raised by professionals and is ready for a family to love him. We have happy puppies and happy people who love them!
WINDROCK greyhounds come with a 7year health guarantee, lifetime mentoring, and a $100 spay-neuter rebate. Show and breeding prospects are rarely available and those are individually evaluated and priced.
We will occasionally have puppies available, and reservations will be necessary. We are planning for 2 litters in 2027!

About Greyhound Puppies~
Our Greyhound puppies are raised in our home and have professional care 24/7. We have a considerable investment of time and dedication in each puppy, and nothing is spared in rearing what we believe are some of the finest greyhounds available.
We don't force or rush Nature and we allow Mom to naturally wean her offspring and we provide daily human interaction with the litter to give each of the puppies the best possible start in life. But it is only A START. It is up to the new family to carry on Pup's education and raise him up to be a good canine citizen. Obedience and Puppy Kindergarten classes are strongly recommended!
My old team roping partner used to say, "You get out of a horse exactly what you put into one--and good horses are made over time and with lots of wet saddle blankets."
How true. Your Pup will reflect exactly what you have taught--or failed to teach him. A trained and well-behaved dog reflects hours of one-on-one training, dedication and love. Bad dogs result from inappropriate training or no training--and neglect. Good nutrition is essential for proper growth. For optimum results, one cannot feed a greyhound puppy just processed kibble. Puppies require good and wholesome foods like fresh meat, eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc for proper development. We strongly recommend supplementation of premium kibble diets with "raw" and/or natural cooked foods for the lifetime of the dog.
A Greyhound puppy will require extensive time, love, and dedication from his caretakers. He will need lots of time to play in a big yard to expend all that youthful energy. He will need gentle guidance and a lot of training to help him develop into a well-behaved canine citizen. Good dogs don't just HAPPEN. They are MADE.
If you don't have the time to make the commitment to your companion owing to work demands or family life--PLEASE reconsider getting a dog.
